The Committee on the Judiciary moved to amend the committee substitute on page 4, section 30, by striking out the section heading and inserting therefor a new section heading to read as follows:

§61-5-30. Causing death or injury to public safety animals; criminal penalties; right of self-defense; exception; and restitution.

And,

On page 6, section 30, line 30, by striking the entirety of subsection (e) and inserting the following language in lieu thereof:

(e) The right of self-defense may be exercised by a person charged with a criminal violation of this section.
